MetLife Auto & Home Explained: Acquired by Farmers in 2021
MetLife Auto & Home is no longer a standalone personal-lines carrier. Farmers Insurance Group acquired MetLife Inc.'s U.S. property-and-casualty subsidiary: MetLife Auto & Home: in a transaction that closed April 7, 2021 for approximately $3.94 billion. The deal transferred about 2.4 million policies and $3.6B of 2019 net written premium. The MetLife P&C legal entities were renamed to Farmers entities (for example, Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance Company became Farmers Property and Casualty Insurance Company), and existing policies migrated onto Farmers underwriting at renewal through 2021-2023. This page is not a review: MetLife Auto & Home is not a quote target.
