Data methodology

How we collect and cite data

Every rate table, statistic, and claim on YesWeSure traces back to a public source or documented internal research.

Where our rate data comes from

Auto insurance rates cited on YesWeSure come from public rate filings, NAIC data, state insurance department publications, and — where allowed — anonymized quote research we run against multiple carriers. Every table cites its source at the bottom.

Refresh cadence

Rate research is refreshed:

  • State-level averages: at least twice a year
  • Carrier-specific rates: after any material rate filing
  • NAIC-derived numbers: within 60 days of the annual release

Sample size and driver profile

Unless otherwise noted, quoted rates assume a 40-year-old driver with a clean record, a 2020-model-year mid-size sedan, full coverage (50/100/50 with $500 comp/collision deductibles). We disclose the assumption on every rate page.

Limitations

Rates are estimates. Actual quotes depend on carrier underwriting, credit score (where legal), driving history, ZIP code, and dozens of other factors. Always get a real quote before making a decision.
