How we make money

Where our revenue comes from

YesWeSure is free for consumers. This is a plain-English explanation of how we sustain the research operation.

The short version

When you click through to a carrier from a YesWeSure page and request a quote, we may receive a fee from that carrier. We only earn when we successfully connect a consumer with a licensed carrier. We are never paid for a placement decision itself — our editorial team decides which carriers appear on which editorial pages.

A worked example

Say you visit our "Best cheap auto insurance in Texas" page. The editorial team ranks Progressive #2 based on our scoring rubric, independent of any commercial arrangement. You click through to get a Progressive quote. Progressive pays YesWeSure a fee for that lead. The ranking was set by the editorial team; the fee was negotiated by the partnerships team. Neither knows what the other did.

If a state page also has a "Sponsored providers" section, that section is clearly labeled with a ribbon and disclosure. Carriers in that section paid for the placement.

What we will never do

  • Sell your personal data. Ever.
  • Take money to move a carrier up in an editorial ranking.
  • Present a commercially influenced ranking as an editorial ranking.
  • Hide sponsored placements.

What we may do

  • Earn a fee when you contact a carrier through us.
  • Prioritize a carrier in a sponsored section, always labeled.
  • Offer preferred rates negotiated on behalf of readers, always labeled.
